Choosing a Carer

Involve your child in each step to ensure they will settle in well. Feel free to discuss any queries with your co-ordinator along the way.

Step 1

Make an application to the Balmoral Family Day Care Office by phoning or dropping in.

Step 2

Discuss your child care needs with your co-ordinator.

Step 3

Your co-ordinator will then refer you to one or more care providers.

Step 4

Ring the care provider/s promptly to make an appointment to meet at their home.

Step 5

Take your child to meet the care provider.

Step 6

Discuss your childs needs and decide with the care provider when your child will start.

Step 7

Leave your child with the care provider for short periods of time before your booked care starts.

Step 8

Send along a favourite toy or rug with your child for comfort.

Step 9

Talk to you care provider about your childs progress.

Step 10

Begin your booked care!
